Film: Stuck On Star Wars

This is the first film I acted in, shot in 2001 and released in 2002, a very funny comedy about three 20-something Star Wars fans who strangely start encountiring people and events reminescent of the Star Wars movie. The governor's daughter gets kidnapped and low life Zach and his friends decide to rescue her. While previewing some language courses in 2001 at the University of Kansas, I saw an ad at the University of Kansas and decided to audition. I tried out for the lead, but got the character of "Eddie" instead. Eddie, as you can see, isn't quite normal. He is an 8 year old trapped in the body of a 28 year old, and he thinks he is Obi Wan Kenobi and has "The Force". I morphed my face as much as I could in a Jim Carrey kind of way and tried to create facial and body characteristics reminiscent of Stan Laurel from the Laurel and Hardy comedy films, and a comic character by Don Martin of Mad Magazine. Kids and Star Wars fans still come up to me and tell me how much they loved Eddie. This was a very physical comedy and is a lot of fun for the whole family. The film won 3rd place in the "Comedy/Drama over 30 minutes" segment of the Kan Film Festival (June 1, 2002) and 1st place in the "Sci Fi/Star Wars" segment of the Dead Center Film Festival (June 8, 2002).
